Winter nighttime temperatures can be cold, -7 to -1 degree Celsius. The temperatures
during the grape growing season are warm, exceeding 32 degrees Celsius, with some heat spikes ranging from 35 to 38 degrees Celsius prior to the harvest. In this case the vineyards are irrigated more vigorously.

Vinos Zanzónico Syrah Reserva 2019, esteemed by many wine connoisseurs, won a Silver Medal in this same competition last year.
We are honored to have been awarded another Silver Medal this year for the Vinos Zanzónico Syrah Reserva 2020. We consider this wine to be the “flag ship” of our brand. It is simply magnificent.
The Vinos Zanzónico 2020 Syrah boasts aromas of mature fruit and hints of mushroom. The color is a deep black plum. From front to back palate the balanced, full body offers up flavors of ripe plum, chocolate, and earthiness with hints of oak, culminating in a finish of silky tannins. VZ Syrah Reserva 2020 was aged in French oak for 14 months (25% new oak and 75% single use) and bottle aged for six months before release.
This wine complements many food pairings including appetizers, bold pastas, and grilled meats from poultry to pork to beef. It is also a wine that can be savored on its own.
Elaboration:
The Syrah grapes are not harvested until they have reached their optimum flavor development and ripeness. Picking takes place during the early morning cooler temperatures. In the cellar, the grapes are hand sorted, de-stemmed and cold soaked in stainless steel tanks for five days. The ' "free run", or highest quality wine, is then drained off of the skins. This free run wine is pumped into barrels for aging, and remains in the barrel until it is ready to be bottled. This Syrah was created with only free run wine. No press wine is used in this process.
Aging: 14 months in French oak, 25% new barrels, 75% single use barrels
